Landmark: Al Hambra, Spain

The Alhambra in Granada, Spain, was originally a small fortress built in 889 AD. It was transformed into a royal palace by the Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar in the mid-13th century. After the Christian Reconquista in 1492, it became the Royal Court of Ferdinand and Isabella. Today, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning Islamic architecture and beautiful gardens.
